An award-winning interior designer, Julie Cavanaugh serves as the founder and senior interior designer of Design Matters in California. In this capacity, she and her team provide clients with numerous design services that include such things as color consulting, bathroom design, historic building conservation, entry design, remodeling, and residential permit documentation. This range of services makes Julie Cavanaugh’s business a one-stop design firm.
To begin her career, Ms. Cavanaugh studied interior design at West Valley College and San Jose State University. At the same time, she obtained membership into the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and earned a California Council for Interior Design Certification (CCIDC). She also achieved CID licensure and became a Certified Green Building Professional (CGBP). While still completing her studies, Ms. Cavanaugh created her own interior design business.
Upon moving her business from a small office to a showroom, Ms. Cavanaugh saw Design Matters grow into the successful design firm it is today. Now featuring several locations in California, along with availability for projects in Arizona, Wyoming, and beyond, the company embodies its leader’s dedication to “livable luxury.” Outside of work, Ms. Cavanaugh is a regular speaker on online forums, radio shows, and in-design and style magazines.
